KiwiSaver is now a core part of New Zealander’s financial planning. According to Morningstar Research, at 31 December 2014 there was $25.233 billion invested in KiwiSaver, with 16 KiwiSaver providers and 141 KiwiSaver funds.

As a consequence, although the design of KiwiSaver is simple and straight forward compared with other national systems, there are a lot of features and ongoing changes relating to KiwiSaver that it is useful to understand for KiwiSaver members.
