CAREY CHURCH
Carey has spent all of her professional career helping companies and individuals to make their money work for them.
In 1983 she completed a BSc majoring in Economics and Earth Sciences at Waikato University. She followed this with a post-graduate Diploma in Applied Finance with Finsia in Australia.
For the next 23 years Carey worked with a variety of clients in both countries, including the trustees of corporate superannuation schemes and individuals to help them achieve their personal lifestyle and wealth goals. She also worked in senior management roles in international companies, dealing with superannuation, and financial issues concerning women and small businesses.
Carey is passionate about educating New Zealanders on how to do better with their hard-earned savings. She has presented a number of workshops and seminars and written articles on financial issues, and helped educate employees of organisations on how they can set and achieve their goals.
She also established New Zealand’s ‘Trustee of the Year Award’ to highlight the work that trustees do for their members.
Carey was an inaugural trustee of the South Pacific Bone Marrow Transplant Unit Charitable Trust.
In 1997 Carey established Moneyworks with her husband Peter.
She is a Fellow of Finsia and a member of the Institute of Financial Advisers of New Zealand (IFA) and the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT). Carey has completed the Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning through Massey University and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). She is a five year qualifying member of MDRT with two coveted Top of the Table and one Court of the Table qualifications.
