What is a typical lifespan in New Zealand today?

Answer: Much longer than it used to be! What does this mean for your retirement planning? The current life expectancy in New Zealand is 82.21 years

And interestingly, while the lifespan in New Zealand is increasing, the lifespan in the USA is decreasing (currently 78.7 years). A media release from Stats NZ titled 'Typical lifespan a decade longer than in late 1940s' states that the median lifespan of people who passed away in 2019 was about 13 years longer than for those who died 70 years ago.

For me (a female born in 1964) my life expectancy is between 88.4 and 90.7, for Peter (Male born in 1959), the life expectancy is between 85.6 and 87.7 years.
